Instapay Technologies has partnered with Mastercard to improve international money transfer services for Malaysia’s migrant workforce. Leveraging Mastercard Move, a suite of global money movement capabilities, the collaboration aims to provide over three million migrant workers in Malaysia with near real-time remittance options to their home countries.
Malaysia’s migrant population primarily hails from Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and the Philippines. With the integration of Mastercard Move, Instapay users can now send funds seamlessly to bank accounts, digital wallets, and cash pickup locations in these countries, as well as in Pakistan. The service offers transparent tracking of payments, fees, and estimated delivery times, enhancing user confidence and convenience.
Instapay plans to roll out these enhanced capabilities to individual customers in the second quarter of 2025, with future expansions targeting corporate clients. The initiative aligns with Instapay’s mission to promote financial inclusion among unbanked workers by providing accessible digital financial solutions, including prepaid Mastercard cards, remittance services, and salary crediting accounts.
Mastercard Move supports person-to-person and business payments across more than 180 countries in over 150 currencies. The platform utilizes Mastercard’s trusted card and non-card networks, along with proprietary cybersecurity solutions, to ensure secure and efficient transactions. This partnership underscores the commitment of both companies to empower Malaysia’s migrant workforce with tools that offer control, flexibility, and enhanced financial well-being.
