Bank of America Corp.’s head of Asia Pacific equity capital markets syndicate, Anastasios Pefanis, is set to relocate to the US to take the reins of its Americas syndicate, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Currently based in Hong Kong, Pefanis is scheduled to make the move in the second quarter. He will succeed Daniel Burton-Morgan, who will transition to a newly created position leading ECM Americas financial sponsor origination. Both Pefanis and Burton-Morgan will report to Jim Cooney, the head of Americas ECM.
A successor for Pefanis in Hong Kong will be announced in due course, sources added.
Pefanis, who has been with Bank of America for approximately 15 years, has held various roles within ECM in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) before moving to Hong Kong. He also spent some time in Singapore during his tenure with the firm.
